  • Voluntary termination

    Good morning
I have just handed my car over to MOTONOVOs agent .i was asked to sign a form that describe the toting up of his appraisal ie £45x 4 for scuffed wheels,£40 for small scratch on o f s door and £300, for no upto date service stamp a total of £520.i did explain that i had a friend do the servicing oil change filters etc ,but any faults were taken to audi garage were work was carried out ie injectors, cambelt, water pump ,battery , tyres, flywheel mass , etc etc and gave him the paid bills for proof .so in my mind i have taken reasonable care of the car so much so we drove it to Rome last year and i would not have done that if the car was not well maintained,
and after all the car is 10 years old with 94 thousand miles on the clock, it is expected to have the odd supermarket scratch etc etc,,So my question to the forum am i liable for the above costs ..
    MANY THANKS STEVE B

          Re: Voluntary termination

If your friend carried out the services was he self employed or worked for a business? Did he stamp or mark the service manual? did you pay him for the services.

If you can prove all of this and your friend is willing to provide a statement to that effect, then I don't think you have much to worry about. The onus is on Audi to claim otherwise but no doubt they will pester you to pay up and threaten everything they can to coerce you into paying.

Whether you choose to pay is entirely up to you but that's all the help I can offer, the ball is now in your court.
