    Re: help car finance termination

First of all, to give effective notice to terminate the agreement it must be done in writing, not over the telephone. Second, you are not obliged to sign any of their documentation and VT is not conditional upon you doing so. All your legal obligation requires you is to give notice in writing, whether or not the company chooses to start the termination from their end is neither here nor there. From a legal perspective, you've done all that is required to legally terminate the agreement.

        Re: help car finance termination

Who is the lender? Where is the car parked, public road or your own drive or garage?

There's no requirement to sign and in fact if you put your name at the end of an email that can be taken as an electronic signature which is valid anyway. Typical lenders making it difficult for you to VT, it is simply a case of ignoring them and following the law or bowing down to their pressure and signing their documentation. Ultimately even if you did sign it, you cannot waive your rights under the CCA so if it falls outside of the scope that they are entitled to e.g. excess mileage or damage which is reasonable wear and tear, then it would be unenforceable.
