  • Independent representatives on boards, committees and panels

Hi I have been told that independent councillors cannot sit on certain committees and panels with a local council. I have been trying to find some information surrounding the legislation on this and wondered if anyone could throw any light or point me in the right direction.

    many thanks

      Hi

I dont think there would be anything bloking an indipendant from any board on a council. There are a number of other things that do, like register of interests decliration, confilcts of interst or associations. If you can give a few more details imay be able to give a fuller answer.

You do tend to get party political old boys clubs in some councils that only put party members in certan jobs
crazy council ( as in local council,NELC ) as a member of the public, i don't get mad, i get even
