Betway not paying winnings

So I got bored on Easter Sunday and decided to have a little flutter, I had seen Betway advertised and thought I'd give them a go. Deposited £20 and received a £20 bonus. After playing through the wager requirements to unlock the money that I had won I was left with £1100, happy days... WRONG.
I have woke up to two emails one stating that as I deposited with someone else's card ( my wife's, a shared account, my mistake) they are cancelling the withdrawal request and invalidating all winnings. When I 've spoken to them they just keep stating T and Cs but when I've looked through these I can only see it stating they would suspend the account and that I would then need to contact them. I have played multiple gaming sites using various cards and I have never had a problem. I wonder if they would have had an issue if I had just lost.

Anybody got any advice?

Will be interesting to see how this pans out.

I dont bet myself, but i do understand soime of the checks and ballances done on gambeling sites to ensure they can identify a person/client.

Using a card in someone else name could be considered trying to get round the checks and ballances that they set up to protect there systems against organised attack. Was you playing blackjack or poker ( holdem ).

Its £ 1100 so worth pushing for, but, the game you were playing may be important. and if it was any of the above games, number of people at the table and there locations may come into play.

I know nothing about the laws or procedures of these companies, its just a general comment becuase am interested inthe security side of these type systems .

Terms and conditions: "4.4 Verification of Bank Details

If you use a credit/debit card and/or a financial/bank account for transactions at Betway, the account/cardholder’s name MUST be the same as the name you used when registering a Betway account.

Should the name you registered on the Betway account and the name that appears on your credit/debit card and/or financial/bank account differ in any way, your account will be immediately suspended. Should your account be suspended, we recommend you contact Customer Service for details regarding our verification process."

If the card was registered in your name or the account was a joint account and the card you used was yours then I think you might have a point. However, if you've inadvertently used the wife's account card and have said that it is in your name then unfortunately, I think their terms says that it can be suspended and that's what they've done.
