House Insurance following Death

Hello.
My Father in Law recently passed away. His house insurance was paid fully and is covered until October 2017.
Can someone let me know what is the correct procedure to follow with regard to the property insurance aspect.

I expect it will take me at least 3 to 4 months to conclude his estate.

Many thanks for any help or guidance on this aspect.

Hi and welcome to LB, just inform the company, they may want to see proof that you are the one dealing with the estate and the death certificate they may not,each company has it's own rules on this. They should then just carry on with the policy in place as it was.

Don't delay in contacting the insurance company (perhaps one for buildngs and one for contents.

The problem is that empty properties are regarded as non standard, and many insurers refuse to cover them. You may need to shop around.
