  • Civil Recovery Solutions/// Paddy Power

    Hi All,

    I urgently need someone's help/advice.

I have been receiving letters from A company called CRS (civil recovery solutions) who have been threatening me about a case with my previous employers, Paddy Power. I made a rash decision and faced the consequences for my actions ( being suspended and later resigning fro my position). Since that day they've been bombarding me with phone calls to my personal phone and house phone as well as letters being sent every two weeks about them recovering an amount rising up to £3,000. I was advised by a friend of mine who was in the same situation years ago but for a lower amount, to ignore them but i fear that they may send people to my house to recover the amount that they say i owe. I got sent paper work of my disciplinary notes from my interview with someone in head office of the company and i realised that the guy wrote something down which was wrong. He stated a different amount from the amount i estimated to have given my friend in free bets.

I recently got a letter (in attachment) stating that it is a letter before referral and that if i done respond to this notice that a range of different things can happen. I panicked and send an email to them stating that i dispute the claim and that they should provide evidence to me about this claim even though my friend advised me to ignore them.

I Need urgent advice as they have stated in the letter that they would refer the case back to the clients.
I also want to know if anyone has been in a case like this and how it went and if i should just ignore them hoping everything will go away.

    Thank you

You should probably remove your name from the attached letter...

You deal with Civil Recovery Solutions by ignoring them!

They cannot do anything other than write threatening letters.
You allowed your mates "free bets" and this has come back to bite you.

Their threat to refer the matter back to your employer is an indication of how useless they are.
Your ex employer passed it to CRS to deal with, as they hold themselves to be theprofessionals at recovering losses.
Doesn't do their reputation much good if they go back and say"we failed".
And what will your ex employer do that worries you so much?
        Just ignore them some more.

And if they send doorstep collectors (very unlikely) tell them to go forth and multiply as they have no power either.
If they refuse to leave your premises call the police and complain you are being threatened and intimidated.

Update:: latest letter- letter before referral. Outlining that they can't assist me if I ignore their correspondence and how a county court judgement against me may affect my credit rating.
                Should I be scared??

Please don't interrupt other peoples threads by adding your problem multiple times. How soon do you really think you will get a response if you post at 11 o'clock at night!

The same advice: Continue to ignore. You can't get a CCJ against you if they haven't taken you to court. They have not got the authority to take it to court and if it is referred back to the people who hired them then they get nothing, so unlikely to do that.

Continue to ignore unless you do get a letter before claim or genuine court papers.
