who owes me the refund..? AKANIKA or HMRC

After calling akinika to verify when my payments to them should be finished ,they told me that i had finished paying back the debt to hmrc owed had had over payed by nearly £800 !.
now i know i should have kept a better record of the £8:60 i was paying weekly ,but obviously hadn't ,so now i want my rebate...
So i called AKANIKA,and they said they have transferred all funds payed inc the one i paid last weekend to contact HMRC to have the over payment transferred back to me ...HMRC can't find any record of this on the system, and the adviser was perplexed as to what been going on.
please help with any advice on this matter.
I am currently in the last few weeks before i close my business as a hairdressing salon ,due to Rates increases and increasing debt, and this money owed would really help pay off what I'm struggling to find to pay back on my debts.

Hi and welcome, my first question did you not receive yearly statements from the DCA?
You were paying £8.60 per week and you have overpaid by £800? that is approx 93 weeks you have been paying and you had no idea till when?

unfortunately i was going through a separation ,with house and children involved and running my business, and no i have checked all paperwork and i have received nothing from the DCA...
They have dismissed that they owe me the rebate and i have just come off the phone from HMRC,and they say the DCA owe it so I'm calling them now..
