My Mercedes was due to be returned under a voluntary agreement it was in imaculate condition but the inspector who looked the vehicle over said that there was a small chip in the windscreen which was not visible to the naked eye but his special camera picked it up. The driver from the same company who came to collect the car agreed that there was nothing wrong with it and suggested that they would quash the charge. The vehicle had recently passed an mot test and deemed as road worthy. As they were not going to be able to pick the car up for 2 weeks after the original agreed date they told me that the vehicle would be insured under their fleet insurance and I therefore considered that any damage would be covered by that policy so I cancelled my policy had I known of the invisible crack i could have claimed under my own policy and avoided their £350 bill. Do I have to pay this bill they are beginning to hound me with letters and calls?

Re: PCP early termination company demanding money for vehicle that is not damaged
Whether you have to pay the bill depends on which way you look at it. You could argue that the car overall is in a reasonable condition, and the fact that a special camera is required to see the tiniest crack would, in my opinion, not be considered unreasonable.
If you want to pay up, you could seek out quotes for what it would cost and perhaps offer them 75% of it if not all of the cheapest quote (or the average from a number of quotes).
Or you can dispute it all the wayIf you have a question about the voluntary termination process, please read this guide first, as it should have all the answers you need. Please do not hijack another person's thread as I will not respond to you
