    Re: Company Secretary liabilities

My daughter's solicitor is holding the money as the firm dealt with the sale. The ex must have received a demand from HMRC last year and is now trying to convince the daughter that she has some liability. He already owes more than £7k in maintenance which CSA are investigating.

Maybe your daughter needs to demand to see that HMRC demand.

Then as Joanna says she needs to ask an accountant whether she may have any remote liability for it.

You say she was a hands-off Company Secretary from the very beginning (2001) but during the company's life (13 years?) did she ever sign anything which her (then) husband may not have fully explained to her?

The company was dissolved in 2016. there is nothing on the records at companies house apart from appointment in August 2001 and resignation in October 2014. I will get her to see the alleged report from HMRC
