Hey Everyone

I was wondering if anyone would be able to help me, I received a few letters from lowell saying I was in debt with Vodafone and I owe them 1025.19 to my knowledge I have never been with Vodafone and now they are saying they want to try for a ccj I have sent them a PROVEN IT letter could anyone give me some advice on what to say in my defence, this is all very new to me.

If you have never been a customer of Vodafone that would be your defence.

I suggest you check your credit reference files ( Noddle and Clear Score are free online) to see if the account is being reported.

Has Lowell sent you a " letter before claim"?

Thankyou for your response, I checked on clearscore yesterday and there is nothing with Vodafone there. However there is lowell there with the debt that I am disputing it's in the closed section.

Hi What is the default date shown on the file?

It's says account open on the 27th of August 2011 and last updated in 27th August 2014

It says on the letter they said they will ask the court to enter a ccj against me after 16/12/2016

Have you asked Lowell to send you proof of the debt from Vodafone? I am not sure, but I would have thought it would contain information about the contract you supposedly had with Vodafone (maybe a customer number, or mobile number it refers to)?

If there is a chance you getting a CCJ it may be worth paying for an Equifax or Experian report and going through that? I used a few of the free ones when I was going for a mortgage last year, but they didn't seem to be as thorough as the Experian one. Just an opinion, and others may have had a better experience with the free ones!

This should give you details on the debt/lender, and also the exact date that it went into default.

Obviously time is of the essence, so I hope you manage to uncover the information you need to prevent this going any further!

I can't find the default date, on clearscore is it usually on there.

I am going to try noodle, I have looked on my credit history, but I have looked over the other sites that I have apparently been on...it seems someone else has been checking this, one from lexisnexis solutions and a few others.

. Have you spoken to them about this situation to confirm if you were in fact a customer of theirs back in 2012? and more importantly, not!

If not, you may be able to get it in writing from them that this was the case and share it with Lowell.

Your credit report should give you the date that the account was started, as well as the address it was registered too, which could help with Vodafone finding it.

Hi again , I've just spoken to Vodafone and gave them the account number lowell provided me and the account doesn't exist
