  • New tenancy

Hi I moved into a rented property on the 8th November with my partner. I have been in the property almost one month. I have found out my partner has been cheating for the past few months and I can't be with them anymore.

I am currently sleeping at my parents until we can sort this problem out.

Would there be be anything that I could do to get out of the property earlier? The property says no pet's although the place was covered in cat hairs when I first moved in. The taps under the sink are kept in place by tying two t-shirts together around the pipes.

I need the best advice to get as out fast as i can,

    Thank you

            Re: New tenancy

            Hello Tommy,

Looking at what you've said, you have both entered into a binding contract and if both of you have signed the tenancy agreement then you are jointly liable should you choose to leave and they could go after either of you or both.

Unless the place is uninhabitable then I can't think of anything else but for either of you to find a replacement tenant which would release you or her from obligations.
If you have a question about the voluntary termination process, please read this guide first, as it should have all the answers you need. Please do not hijack another person's thread as I will not respond to you
