  • Sold on Debt with CCJ/CO

    Hi everyone

New to the site, some really good advice and helpful posers and would like some advice myself please. Been in DMP for 12 years and decided to sort it out myself a few months ago.

One of the debts was for a loan taken out around 2000 and defaulted 2004. CCJ obtained Sept 04 and Interim Restriction registered Oct 04.

Debt sold on at least once and now with DCA. Can i send a CCA request to them? Can they enforce this debt through the courts if there has already been a CCJ issued on the debt and judgement has been enforced with the restriction on my property? I am pretty sure you cannot get two CCJ's for the same debt. I don't think the DCA are aware of the original CCJ or restriction. Find this situation a little confusing and cant find similar threads anywhere.

Please note I am not trying to avoid paying the debt, just want to ensure the DCA is legally chasing the debt etc before making any arrangements etc. Any advice would be greatly appreciated

A creditor doesn't have to supply a CCA after a CCJ has been obtained.

No you can't get two CCJs for the same debt.
