  • Defaults help needed please.

I am coming very close to the 6 yrs on a few of my debts. However, one of my debts a Lloyds TSB credit card has actually gone over the six years. The problem is it states on my credit report that the default was issued in Feb 2011 however, there are also some BB a 4 in Nov 2010 and I guess although it isn't on the noodle report 3 others prior to that stating that the payments were late.

The problem with this account is the bank were taking payments from my current account which is also defaulted to pay the credit card. So although the card looks like it was being paid it wasn't.

My question is should this already be off my report or does it only go on the default date. If it's the default date will this be off my report in March next year?

    Thanks in Advance

    Hi christinez.

The default date is usually regarded as the date when the lender was able to end the agreement & take action (my words/definition, but 'the date when the cause of action accrued' is a bit of a mouthful!).
This trigger date is a bit of a movable feast & will sometimes depend on the individual facts.
Tbh, unless there was an urgent reason why your default date needs to be argued, if it were me I'd just wait until early next year, when it will disappear for good.

Just worried about them coming out of the woodwork, so close to the eleventh hour so to speak.

      Thanks
