  • How does a ccj work?

Long story short I owe a garage a lot of money for a vehicle I got through a finance company however the finance company never paid the garage although I signed an agreement and everything.

6 months later I sold the business to someone else including the debt and put him in touch with the garage and was assured from both sides it was sorted.
He never paid the garage however and tomorrow there will be a sherif court hearing on the ownership of the vehicle and the debt.

It's most likely that a ccj will be granted as I don't have any money at all to pay them and no longer have the vehicle I'm wondering how a ccj will work.
All the correspondence from debt collectors was addressed to the business but I was named in the dispute papers and on the v5c document.

If a ccj is granted will they freeze my account?(it's only got £200 in it anyway).
And will a ccj appear on the history of the car as well or only on my credit history?

The finance company bought it and I was to pay them.
It was a hire purchase agreement and I signed it and returned it to them.

However after receiving the car the finance company never took any money it was only after trying to pay them i discovered they hadn't paid the garage.

I tried my best to have them pay the garage but they never did.
I e checked the vehicle history and its not recorded as having even been financed that's why I sold up because I thought I cold clear the debt that way.
I never received any money myself the buyer was in touch with the garage and they were supposed to be sorting it out between themselves.
