  • Restons won't provide breakdown of balance

Hi, I'll try to keep this brief. In 2011 I took out a card with Vanquis. I can't ever remember using it although my ex partner may have done as she dealt with all the finances. I left the property in 2013, house was sold in 2014.
Upon contacting Experien, they have informed me there is still a balance outstanding to Vanquis although the debt has now been taken over by Arrow Global. After requiring today, it's now been passed to Restons. They have been sending post to my old address and confirmed the balance as just under £400. When I asked for a breakdown of that amount, they said they didn't have that information and that I would need to seek legal advice and have given me 14 days to clear the debt. I do have the finances to clear this but I'd like to know how this amount came to be first of all. How can I find this out and is there a remote chance I could fight the amount?
    Regards,
    Zig.

Re: Restons won't provide breakdown of balance

    Good evening, welcome to LB,

I would seriously recommend staying off the phone, keep everything in writing!

Arrow Global has bought the debt.

I suggest that you send Restons a request for a copy of the Vanquis agreement (CCA request) and request that they pass it to their client as you are aware that Arrow Global is refusing to accept signed for post.
There's a template for this in the green box at the top of the " court claim" forum. There is a statutory fee to pay, so use a postal order for £1 and mark it" for statutory fee only".
    Have they threatened legal action?
