  • Restons: Satisfaction of CCJ.

    Hello all,

I was brought to Court by Restons acting on behalf of MBNA several years ago for missing an initial payment to them while my Debt Management Plan was being set up in December 2010.

I received a CCJ and agreed to pay a certain amount per month to Restons. The debt was finalised in July of this year and so far I have not heard from Restons about the debt being finalised.

My DMP company, Payplan has since revised my offers to other creditors with the CCJ debt finalised and my DMP is proceeding.

Should Restons have sent me a confirmation of the debt having been satisfied? Will the CCJ be automatically removed from my record, or what should I now do?

    Many thanks,

    florian1

    Re: Restons: Satisfaction of CCJ.

Your credit file will be marked by Restons as satisfied and the CCJ on your credit file will drop off 6 years to the day it was registered and that would be the case if it was paid or not, maybe Restons should have given you notice of it being completed but I guess that is down to their own policies but definitely no harm in ringing Restons and asking them for confirmation in a letter...

      Good morning Florian,

      How were you paying Restons?

You need to be sure they are not still getting paid if you used a debit card. standing order, or direct debit.

I would write asking for confirmation that the debt has been satisfied. ( Nigel Petrie Coe is the boss)

Thanks guys for your help. I was paying Restons via a DMP so no more money has gone to them.

Restons obviously don't notify the debtor as a matter of course that the account is finalised then.
