  • ID theft O2 and Lowell

There was ID fraud perpetrated on O2, Vodaphone, New Look and others by someone using the same name as our daughter and at our address. By our going through Experian, the others all accepted it was fraud cancelled the debts and amended the credit report. O2 and Lowell have failed to do so and a couple of weeks ago Lowell filed a claim in Northampton County Court, which we immediately refuted and await their response.

is there more we can do to speed up resolution as daughter is applying for a mortgage and we would rather not have the query still on her credit report.

What about taking out, or threatening to take out a counter claim?

All returned saying no one at this address had an account with them.

get a crime number from the police for starters

acknowledge the court form on line for now stops them getting any judgment for now

Interestingly I cannot report this as a crime because no money was lost / taken, well not from my daughter anyway - it was taken from O2, but they will not have reported it as a fraud because it was easier to sell on the debt to Lowell. Did the online refuting a few days ago and await Lowell response.

You should always report identity theft to the police. Use the Action Fraud website which is listed on the forum on the right hand side.

                    http://www.actionfraud.police.uk/fra...identity_fraud

Get a crime reference number and send it to the Claimant asking them to Discontinue the claim.

Is it not a bit late to report this after all there have no doubt been letters before the CCJ forma were sent out ?
