Thanks Kati It's just happened again this time it logged me out of LB.

Looking back I see I have missing post since 6th September when all the problems with Yahoo hit.
Quite a few times the freeze is down to LB not responding and then can't recover the page.

hi

That usually pointing to a hardware error inn older versions of windows, make sure its not overheating, if its a tower, make sure the heat sink on the main chip has the dust removed. Same with the RAM slots, remove dust. If a lappy, clean out the fan inlet if you can get to it.

Possibly worth doing a disk check ( hdd ) and tell it to look for bad sectors ( does the disk sound a bit clanky at times ), that would do the same as well.

Re: Computer Problem

It could be that Microsoft, in its wisdom, has updated some device drivers and got it wrong (again). Find System Restore in Accessories and System tools and take your computer back a few days. This will uninstall any updates that have sneaked in.

Thank you ostell, the computer is a relatively new Lenovo 1TB laptop.
Problems started with the Yahoo debacle and were supposed to have been sorted by an " expert " lasted couple of days then started to play up.

I'll check for updates and remove them not had many problems with W10 until now.

Thanks for the help!

Re: Computer Problem

Ahh i presumed it was older equipment. New stuff will more likey be device drivers. A few weeks ago, windows 10 did the anaversary update,

I would always run the free version of malware bytes as well. If you put down the exact model number i will have a check if there are any known issue after the update.

Re: Computer Problem

Many thanks to Crazy Council and Ostell for the suggestions have no run a system restore /scan and malware bytes check nothing wrong on malware.
On scan a whole list of W10 updates not properly install CC clean cleared them all and a few other items not properly installed.

All seems to be running well faster start up and generally faster all round.

Thanks guys much appreciated.

Or possibly not if it's Window related. :P

Re: Computer Problem

Hi Nem, Computer engineer here more than happy to help if I can. If i am honest a BSOD can sometimes a bugger to diagnose as it could be a number of things. Fingers crossed you have already tackled the problem but if it occurs again then you need to tackle logically

So this will be either hardware or software - As previously mentioned Ram memory is a usual suspect as the BSOD is in essence memory being addressed outside it's address range.

If you have 2 sticks of RAM then take one out and run it or even use a memtest cd over night - classic tell tale signs are varying BSOD messages like "IRQ not less or equal" or "Bad pool header" etc

Software wise I have seen drivers cause this but only rarely - someone mentioned antivirus which is well known as a cause as this can also address non existent memory - my advise with your Lenovo would be to remove any third party anti virus software - the windows 10 AV will kick in and is all you need. The next thing would be a re-install.

Best of Luck
richisup

Edit - BSOD = blue screen of death

Good morning rich thank you for replying!!

After carrying out the instruction kindly provided By Crazy Council and Ostell yesterday all was fine for the rest of yesterday.

This morning the IRQ not less or equal message has come again + a message about a corrupt driver but this was so fleeting I did not get all of that message.
I ran back up and restore and CC cleaner scan and removed a mass of " problems".

BTW this is the 4th attempt to reply to your post.

Hi nemesis45

whats the exact model number ( usually on the back ). It can be very hard to track down if its a windows driver fault, but levano or fairly fast at updating stuff. If i was to guess, i would say part of the windows update went wrong ( been there myself ). If you post the exact model number , i will have a look for known hardware conflicts.

also, have you got a temp monitor ( something like hwinfo or a version that can read your sensors ). Also, is it happening at random, or more likely when playing video or doing processor incentive tasks.

Good morning CC,

All that's on the back is a Win 8 sticker and the number G500 I look out the user manual.
