  • Outdated info on estate agent contract

We signed up to a local estate agent who hasn't done much beyond listing our property on Rightmove & we are dissatisifed with this service. However, on reading through their contract document yesterday I note that it states the cooling-off period is 7 days. I know this increased to 14 days in June 1014 - does this invalidate the contract?

I suppose it would depend on if your out the 14 day period as well.

Usually, there are release terms from estate agents contracts, these usually come with fees, these are to cover background work done when getting paperwork ready to list a property ( there are numerous things you have to check )

If the terms for releasing could be classed as unfair, then you might have an argument after 14 days,
crazy council ( as in local council,NELC ) as a member of the public, i don't get mad, i get even
