Re: 30-day short term right to reject A NEW CAR - Consumer Rights Act 2015

I have contacted finance and I have told them regarding the windscreen.
Also i said that I would like to reject the vehicle.
However, they told me that you can not reject it because it is not a manufacturing fault and it is based on an external factor. The sticker was put after.

    What are my consumer rights?

      Bovine excrement.
The vehicle as supplied to you the purchaser by the dealer is unsatisfactory.
It is not your problem when the damage occurred as long as it was prior to you taking delivery.
      Tell them to reconsider immediately.

Good .....I have told them to considered carefully and they booked a special cleaning service which he has successfully.

After 3 days we have a new problem, the Engine Malfunction Indicator Light turned on. The car is fully drivable though. Can I reject the car based on this.

I called the dealer and they said that they are happy to check it out.

If the engine management light has come on, consult te driver's manual and if it says stop driving ....do so.

You can exercise your final right to reject as there has already been one attempt to repair the vehicle.
          CRA 2015 Sec 24 (5) & (60):

          (5) A consumer who has the right to a price reduction and the final right to reject may only exercise one (not both), and may only do so in one of these situations—
          (a)
          after one repair or one replacement, the goods do not conform to the contract;
          ..........

          (6)
(6)There has been a repair or replacement for the purposes of subsection (5)(a) if—

          (a)
the consumer has requested or agreed to repair or replacement of the goods (whether in relation to one fault or more than one), and

          (b)
the trader has delivered goods to the consumer, or made goods available to the consumer, in response to the request or agreement.
