need help with a warrant issued in scotland from 3yrs ago , its a traffic offence .

I got a call from police Scotland on a untraceable number , they claimed I hadn't paid a fine from 3yrs ago . I know it has been taken from my income support at £3.30 a week as I made the arrangements myself . The policeman said I had a warrant out for me. I told him I had paid the £250 fine but he claimed it was £330 ! I now live in England and curiously he never even asked for my address or gave me his shoulder number and seemed to be in a hurry to get off the phone , he said to talk to a lawyer . What do I do ?

i would check the statute of limitations as to how they can chase something that has been paid off so long ago
