It's not really conflicting advice. In fact it's not even advice.

It's options for you to consider and then you make up your own mind what would work best for you.

It really does have to be your choice.
I think you know what I would do in the circumstances.

    Lol!
So are they paying you to do their job for them?
    Or jump through their hoops?
The next significant move is theirs to make, anyway........
The choice is yours, of course, but if they sense any signs of weakness they may well go for the jugular regardless, in the hope that you'll fold.

".....we will refer this matter to our client for further instruction."
Imho it doesn't amount to a letter before claim; it doesn't even mention prospective litigation.
Me? I'd just file it; I guess you've already written to them re the non-compliant documentation; what more can you say?
Playing letter tennis is just a waste of time & money.

So, what is my best course of action next?
    Ignore or reply?

The letters from Mortimer are crystal clear. The t's and C's are really that bad. Both taken by the same camera.
If that's the best they've got, imho it's nowhere near compliant.

That sounds a bit like a Letter Before Action which may require a response asking them to send you the documents which they intend to rely on in court such as the Default Notice etc.

Post up the solicitor's letter with your personal details removed.
