Urgent!! CCJ Lowells/Bryan Carter

My husband received a letter dated 21/7/16 about a debt for £2271.31 to orange from Lowells solicitors who have taken over from Bryan Carter, acting on behalf of Lowells portfolio Ltd. It states that a CCJ was obtained on 8/1/14 and asks him to get in contact to pay.

My husband can produce all payment records via bank details and has had NO notification of court applications, debt owed or been notified of a disputed amount by orange so we are quite foxed about what to do. The SRA could be useful but need advice on what to do initially in case it's an ombudsman job as my husband is fastidious with money and does not owe a penny to anyone! I addition and since 2014 he has accessed credit quite easily! Any advice welcome!!!

Hello Jenjen, looks like a hefty sum of money owed there. Have you got any information such as the account number or address details that the account was under? It might be best contacting Orange in the first instance to see if they have any information. Alternatively you could contact the court or request further information from Lowell about the details of the account and the CCJ the address it was issued to.

Did you husband ever have any contract or account with Orange? for that amount of money it could also be quite a bit of interest added on or there has been an early termination of the agreement. If you can find out the relevant information which means your husband doesn't owe the money you can seek to set aside the CCJ.
