  • help with lowell porfolio

hi all, first time posting in here, was just hoping for a little help please?

i have recieved a letter from lowells stating they own two debts owing by me, one is for a telecommunications debt and the other a defaulted bank loan from 2011, i doubt the accuracy of the claim regarding the bank loan, i have sent prove it letters regarding both and have had a reply that they are requesting the documentation from original creditors and will inform me when they are recieved, and the accounts are suspended until then. this has now been one month and i am yet to hear from them again, now my question is, what should i do next? i am keen to get all this sorted and was wondering if there was a follow up letter i can send to speed things along? any help would be greatly appreciated

    thanks

    Good evening, welcome to LB.
Is Lowell solicitors dealing with this?
It is more than likely that they are having some difficulty in getting the information.

If you can give us the history of both debts it will help to get the best advice for you.

      hi nem,
it is lowell financial on the paperwork, the mobile phone one wasn't cancelled upon my request after my contract period was up, but they continued to take monthly payment until i informed them again to cease doing so and that i will be cancelling the dd. i assume after my contract period is up i no longer have an agreement in place? it's the bank loan i'm more urgent to get to the bottom of, i had a loan in late 2008, i paid this on time until i lost my job in october 2010, i had no means to pay the fixed amounts every month and went to see the branch manager to explain this, he said once it was defaulted it would be passed to dca, and suggested i borrowed the money until i found another job? i found another job in feb 11, but broke my leg after five days in work! the good news was my new employer said he would hold my job until able to return to work, i visited the bank two more times ( on crutches) to explain the new situation and was met with the same answers as before. it did eventually get passed to dca, i didnt reply to them and they stopped sending letters. now some years later they have started again, only i now think the debt is roughly £2200 greater than before and dont think the default date is correct, i wrote a prove it letter hoping for some info back but have recieved none? i'm wondering if i could send further letter to speed up their response?

      thanks for replying

          hi nem,
quick update, i've checked my credit report and the defaults are no longer showing, no closed accounts showing with experian, but are showing on clearscore, showing paid up to date but with the current outstanding balances? is this normal whilst they put the accounts on hold during a dispute? i have received a letter from lowell reference telecoms debt with statement of account, it is a printed a4 sheet, no header with my name, address, and invoice payments, some payments have four payments in one day for amounts ranging from £40-£140? the first lot of these invoices are shown as single entries payed direct debit, the later in the list is showing personal credit card, i never owned one back then, and i'm 100% i have never had anybody pay any debt in my name, ever. also most of these invoices have 2 on the same day and some days later 2 personal credit card payments?? i'm sure i'm being led up the garden path with this. any advice from yourself or any other members would be greatly appreciated, i understand you are very busy on here helping others

          thanks podc

            Good morning,

I suspect that " Clear Score" as happens with some other " secondary " CRA sights does not get updated very quickly by the parent site.
Can you post a copy of these entries please podc?

Hi mem, thanks for taking a look, is it the entries on the statement of account I should post? I'm awaiting sar from bank so can hopefully collate any of them, was wondering should I reply to Lowell stating I do not consider this proof of any debt and don't acknowledge any debt owing and will be sending sar to original creditor and bank to collate the supposed statement of account and point them to fraudulent activity by them ,if any ,will have consequences? I really don't want to land myself in further aggravation, thanks again

The CRA entries Experian CScore fo comparison and the statement if possible.
What did Lowell say about the statement in the covering letter?

Hi mem, at work but will scan documents when I get home. The cover note said along the lines of being the documents requested from my previous prove it letter, and that it was supplied by original creditor, hope I'm now satisfied and they look forward to hearing from me to set up affordable payment plan! Roughly this, I'll scan this also later! The experian report is the £2 stat one sent in the post after my initial contact with them with prove it letter, has no defaults and no closed accounts, clear score one was after this showing no defaults but did list the 2 accounts in question as closed, showed monthly payments up to date with green markers until closed date, with outstanding balance, noddle shows defaults, listed in dispute may, June and July, this was before I recieved lowells letter confirming accounts were on hold until they obtain requested documents from oc's, have a few days until I can see an updated report from them .
