      The dwp letter states that dad was overpaid £10,000 from 2009 to 2014 for pension credits, dad was severly disabled with c.o.p.d. And ended his days in a nursing home. They have not gone into any detail of what the debt consisted of.

        The dwp states that my dad owes them £10,000 fromfeb. 2009 to 2014 with the only detail pension credit overpayment

          They have given you a figure?
          Have they asked for information from you , dads bank statements etc?
          Do you have or can find any letters from DWP regarding Tax Credits?

          Please take a look at page 25 on this leaflet http://www.ageuk.org.uk/Documents/EN....pdf?dtrk=true
          it explains about Assessed Income Periods that your dad should ahve been notified about with his assessments fro pension credit.
