PPI Santander Store Card

Hi I got a GE Money Card Dorothy Perkins store card in 1990. Santander have confirmed PPI was sold to me. I wrote to them and said I had no idea and was miss-sold PPI. They have not upheld my claim. I understand the Financial Ombudsman only can deal with claims pre 2001 or 2005? There is a way you can write to the underwriter which would have been Genworth Lifestyle, although you have to write to New Day first. Am I barking up the right tree here? Santander say I signed documentation etc but cannot provide me with this documentation so seems like their word against mine. There is no point me writing to Financial Ombudsman as out of their jurisdiction date. What should I do? Thanks.

Send your complaint to Genworth. You di not have to go to NewDay at all. Genworth will use Santander to assess the complaint which will still be rejected BUT you then go to FOS against Genworth.
There are only certain types if claim that get upheld. But for a 1990 case you willbe OK because you did not sign separately for the PPI. This was an automatic mis-sale and your case will be upheld. Genworth and Santander know this but they still reject in the hope that you will not go to FOS - disgraceful!!!!
