Robinson Way send back Ł1.00 CCA Cheque

I had a debt with Barclaycard who sold it to MKDPP who recently sold it to Hoist/ Robinson Way. Earlier this week they contacted me to inform me that they had conducted a CRA search and note that I am paying some creditors but not them. I sent them a CCA letter and the Ł1.00 fee. Today, 26th May2016, I received the cheque back and they informed me they are sending me a separate letter.

Can they do this if I have asked for a CCA request. I did do a CCA request previously with MKDPP and they did comply but I shredded this when they sold the debt to Hoist. Can Hoist/ Robinson Day refuse to resend the information?
