Today I received a letter from Cabot Financial, saying hsbc had sold on a debt of 1200 pounds, after a quick panic, I phoned hsbc who is still our existing bank, they checked and said they could see nothing on our files at all. it is an old current account they are taking about, however I have no Idea as to what the debt is?? hsbc said it could be fraud, so I have informed the police, in the meanwhile I was told to contact them telling them I had no idea about this neither did hsbc, and asked for the account number that attributed to the debt. after informing them we had spoken to hsbc and informed the police. the line went very quiet for a few moments . they then went on to say they thought they could do what was asked and I said post it to me, they agreed. what the heck is happening here can anyone tel me l please, any advice would be helpful, I am a pensioner with no money so what the can I do ?
