  • small claim court time scales

I want to take my old landlord to the small claims court for a breach in the Deposit protection Scheme.
I will be back in the UK soon and wanted to know how long it takes to get herd and can a friend represent me if I have to leave the UK.
    Thank you in advance

Re: small claim court time scales

Small claims process from issuing claim to final hearing will be a minimum of 6 months, depending on local court availability.

No a friend cannot represent you in your absence ordinarily, but you can notify the court of unavailable dates to try and avoid it clashing with foreign travel.
"Although scalar fields are Lorentz scalars, they may transform nontrivially under other symmetries, such as flavour or isospin. For example, the pion is invariant under the restricted Lorentz group, but is an isospin triplet (meaning it transforms like a three component vector under the SU(2) isospin symmetry). Furthermore, it picks up a negative phase under parity inversion, so it transforms nontrivially under the full Lorentz group; such particles are called pseudoscalar rather than scalar. Most mesons are pseudoscalar particles." (finally explained to a captivated Celestine by Professor Brian Cox on Wednesday 27th June 2012 )

Re: small claim court time scales

      Hi and Thank you.
      6 months?
      That is so crazy.
Why does this take so long?
So I could return to the UK. Start an action and then return when the case will be herd?
      Is that so?
Can I start a case whilst I'm outside of the UK and return when the case will be herd?
If so, what do I need to do?
Are the Time's/date's held to by the court?
I'm told by people that my case is "cut and dry"
you will win and no problems.
They just make it hard and prolonged and we just give up.
      Thank you in advance
      Micky
