  • Help with Robinson Way

    Hi all,

I need a bit of advice as I am in a pickle. I had a debt (RW claim it to be £2600) that went a bit bad (I love to ignore these kind of things like an idiot). It has ended up with Robinson Way, who I contacted and asked to prove that the debt was mine, they replied with the credit card statement, so fairly sure it is. I had every intention of negotiating a settlement with them, unfortunately I ended up being signed off of work shortly after and I was unwell. I have now received a letter from their solicitors threatening court action if I do not respond within 10 days, I got the letter this morning and it is dated the 30th April (?). Clearly my ten days are already up.

To make matters more complicated I am now being made redundant from work (and getting a pay out of £1,400 which I clearly need some of to be able to survive long enough to find a job.

A while ago (whilst I was ignoring this) they offered me a 50% reduction in the bill. Can I negotiate this down further? It would be almost all of my redundancy. More importantly, how do I stop them taking me to court right away (and charging me for the urm.... pleasure).

I get that I didn't deal with this in the right way, it's why I am here - but I am trying to now and I would greatly appreciate some help.

    Thanks.
