  • Police Seize car taken without owners consent

Hi, can the Police seize my vehicle as driver was stopped with no insurance permission was not given to take the vehicle. At present I am waiting for my V5 as previous owner had not sent back to DVLA have slip given from sale and have contacted them.

    Thanks,

Simple answer is yes, they cannot allow the driver to continue to use the vehicle, an insured driver / owner can reclaim the car.
Was the car in fact stolen?

If it was taken without consent the Police can charge driver with theft if you will not say this you could be done for aiding and abetting the offender driving without insurance
