    Hi all
    i'm a new member joining today after accidently coming accross this forum my late step-father was claiming pension credit after his death last year the dwp told the solicitor to delay the execution(?) of his will they then asked for bank ,insurance details etc then they asked for all going back 10 years they still have not sorted out anything only to reply to the solicitors letters and request that the matter is being dealt with this has taken over 1 year and still not settled has anyone else had this experience any advice would be gratefully recieved .thank you

    Hi and welcome sharonb, sorry to say the DWP and the solicitor will not rush,
    Have you tried contacting the DWP and asking exactly what is going on, they may say they will only deal with the solicitor, the solicitor is not working for them and should be reminded of that.

      Thank you for your reply the solicitor has phoned and written but get the same reply we are dealing with the matter my brother who is the other executor has also tried he also hit the same brick wall we just seem to be running around in circles meanwhile the costs are growing for fees and council tax heating etc so the house wont go into disrepair we are all dipondent at present and wish we could hurry them up some way

        Firstly I would check on your local councils website re council tax as you should not be paying any until 6 months after probate has been granted form date of death.

          Thank you but as our step-father died over a year ago so the 6mnths grace has gone we never know maybe by xmas (i'm not sure which one ) it will be sorted
