  • Investigation notice

I have been suspended from work due to a number of allegations of aggressive behaviour
I have now received a letter inviting me to an Investigation interview
I am Head of department of an hotel for 4.5 years
No matter what I say they will twist it to sack me...I swore at a member of staff and admitted this
I may as well give my resignation in before it goes to disciplinary what is the best thing to do from a reference point of view and how do I word a resignation without notice..

        Re: Investigation notice

Would it be possible to have an off-the-record phone conversation with your boss?
Perhaps they'd agree to give you a good reference in return for you going quietly.

            Re: Investigation notice

Keep trying to ring the boss.
If that fails you could raise it with the Crownford rep at the start of the meeting on Tuesday.
It doesn't matter that the person is self-employed.

Ok will do.. I just thought that it would be worse to attend the investigation meeting and maybe better if I resign before this meeting takes place..??

                Re: Investigation notice

It would be better to deal with it before they can make a decision on taking it to a disciplinary. But it's difficult if they are avoiding communication.
Perhaps you could arrive very early on Tuesday and speak to the boss in person.

Well, how does one define an employee? Was this just one incident of swearing or are there claims of a history of swearing. Everyone swears, but is its unreasonable to swear at staff, which is different from swearing in general in the course of conversation, perhaps. What is the nature of the allegations of 'aggressive behaviour'?

I swore at a member of staff not under me may I add .. We don't get on as simple as that
I don't know the allegations it just states "attitude towards work colleagues and your aggressive behaviour."
