  • Claiming PPI back from credit acceptance

    Good afternoon all,

I wonder if you can help me...........

i I took out a car finance agreement back in 2000 (i still have all original paperwork) with Direct car finance/credit acceptance
The paperwork quite clearly states I also took out PPI over 42 months.
I made some enquires about a year back and was told Credit Acceptance now only operates in USA, Can I still claim the PPI back, as I never needed it in the first place and, never used it?

    Thanks very much in advance.

You complain to whoever sold you the PPI policy. If that was the car dealership then tit's them who you complain to.

      Thank you for your reply,

The car dealership was Direct Car Finance which I believe is dissolved.

That sounds like the finance company and not the car dealership itself?

Direct Car Finance don't show up on FSCS.

Thank you very much EXC I have read through the link you sent me and noticed it was a few years back, Do you know if they managed to obtain a company they could claim from?

          Thanks once again

Complaining to the seller for a YCC sale before Jan 2005 is generally not possible - no complaint jurisdiction. Also no point going to YCC - same story - no responsibility for YCC. If you post the date of sale and the name and address of the garage that sold this, I will tell you if you can claim to the Insurer and who that is.
