Sorry Howie I was thinking about another thread there.

          Who is pursuing this now.

My feeling is that it's statute barred now.

              Ok.

DCL can be made to go away they were not granted cost by court it seems and their claim was not successful.

I would send them a letter along the lines of.

              Date:

Ref: use the one on their letters,
              Re: Alleged Debt £xxx.xx

              Sir/ Madam

I refer to your recent correspondence regarding this alleged debt which appears to arise from yours solicitors fee from date xx xx. .

Please note that I do not acknowledge and liability to DCL or any company it may claim to represent.

It is now my stance that the alleged debt is statute barred under the provisions of the Limitation Act 1980 and therefore I will not now or in the future make any payment in regard to the alleged.

DCL will now cease all forms of contact and will remove all data relating to me from its records howsoever held and confirm in writing that it has complied with this requirement.

              Yours etc.

              Use signed for post.

The debt " industry " in the UK works on the idea that the public are ignorant, so much goes unchallenged and people are paying without checking if they actually are liable to do so.
I understand that the level of judgements by default grows daily.
