I sell hand painted textiles at a market.
I have had to take out liability insurance.
Please can someone tell me why I would have to do this and in what situation could I be sued?

You're providing goods to the public. Businesses have to take out liability insurance in case there are claims, there could be a flammable paint perhaps or a fire caused by something else; obstacles, they could trip over something and bang their head. You're just covering yourself in the event of potential claims.

Was that public liability or products liability?
