• Same default date as husband for a different debt claimed by Lowell Financial

Hello Everyone
I am new to this forum so if I am posting in the wrong way let me know

In November a default each suddenly popped up on both mine and my husbands credit reports from Home Lender from Lowell Portfolio

Both had different 4 digit end reference numbers and Start Dates 10/03/2008 and 12/03/2009 respectively and different amounts £729 and £945 I don't know what these debts are and can't find any info, the thing I am finding most strange though is that both apparently defaulted on the 16th of May 2011?

Any advice on what to do as it has crippled my credit file

Thanks in Advance

Debt is like any other trap, easy enough to get into, but hard enough to get out of.

Lowells have hoovered up a load of old provident accounts lately, and they are usually reported on the CRAs as "home credit".

Does that ring a bell at all?

Good afternoon.

Has Lowell been in touch with you at all?

To challenge the entries on the credit files put notices of correction/dispute on them.

Have either of you had accounts with Provident Finance where payments are collected
by an agent on a weekly basis?
The "account " numbers are most likely Lowell own reference numbers and will have no
other meaning.

It now depends on what you want to do. If these are not your accounts you
will need to challenge Lowell at the moment as the original creditor is unknown.
Is there a possibility these accounts were opened fraudulently?

If Nibbler's suggestion of old Provident loans doesn't ring a ball, you need to send Lowell a Prove It letter.

If you do think they are old provi loans, the next question is when did you last make a payment? The same default could be correct if you stopped paying them both at the same time.
