  • the mortgage group (cornwall) mis sold mortgage

I would like any help you can offer in finding a telephone number for the mortgage group in Cornwall. Also I would love to hear from anyone who was mis sold a mortgage or ppi by them. G.E Money have given me their address but I can't get a phone number. Before I send a letter I would like to know that it will be received and dealt with as I don't fancy waiting 2 months only to find that they are yet again trading under a different name somewhere else in Cornwall.
    Thanks

Is this the outfit you are looking for?

    The Mortgage Group

Kernow House Gas Hill, Truro, Cornwall TR1 2XP
    01872 262222

However a quick Company House check doesn't show them. but I found this:

Lots of "Usave" in Company House, but I wasn't able to find one in Cornwall!

    I'll keep looking!!

Thanks for your reply des8, the address is gateway business centre, barncoose Ind est, redruth, Cornwall tr153rq.
The more I look into this the more horrifying it gets.
I was sold a mortgage by the mortgage group (broker) in 2004. The director at the time was Anthony murtagh. He then sold it to G.E Money who was my lender.
Then he opened another business call the money group. Then that changed again to the mortgage group.who now have a registered address in barncoose. He also was the director of Usave. I have now found that he has had 42 directorships and is currently a director of 14 active businesses one of which is the mortgage group, but I've found that this company may now be west country investments (Cornwall Ltd) registered in Dec 2015.
I want to know how he can get away with opening and closing businesses. Employing and making redundant hundreds of people and his businesses are targeting people who were and are struggling financially. They sell a product because they know you've no choice but to go with them, and then they've got you. Fortunately I'm in a much better position financially than I was back then but I want to get this company and make them pay for their ruthless tactics. I paid £3000 brokers fees and £8000.00 credit insurance(I haven't got a clue what this is for). I have made it my goal to get back what they took from me 1st. And then for everyone else that they've conned. So any help out there would be greatly appreciated.

I think you will find it difficult to pin anything on the broker without support from other victims.

However if you think you were mis sold your mortgage (and can prove it) you should proceed against G E money.
The broker is only an intermediary and final decision is taken by the lender who cannot hide behind the broker.

Re: the mortgage group (cornwall) mis sold mortgage

I have a letter from G.E Money to say I should contact the broker as G.E Money didn't sell the mortgage and weren't there at the point of sale.

I recall a similar excuse came up a little while ago.
I'll have a look around and see if I can find it.

I've been reading of two other cases on legal beagles relating to the mortgage group/the money group but I don't know how it ended. The thread was from 2013 and sounded promising

If you have a claim for misselling and the broker has gone into liquidation you could, if he was insured, proceed against his insurers under the Third Party Rights against Insurers Act 1930.

Or a claim for compensation for financial loss could be pursued under the Financial Services Compensation Scheme
