making a claim from NatWest Bank

I have recently heard on the television about claiming because of extras that Nat West give you, I have always banked with NatWest since early 1980, I was changed to Advantage Gold I think at some point, which is still the same now, however I did receive a letter a few weeks ago telling me I would save money on changing my account I didn't do anything about it as I was not sure if it was a scam, however after hearing about this on Martins Money tips, I am wondering if I should claim, I have never been able to take advantage of any of the offers, I am 69 with a cardiac problem so that has always ruled out insurance, always had my own AA cover no mobile phones to worry about and more. Do you think I have a claim and if so how do I go about it

Excellent news(mainly cos I used to work for NatWest and know how badly they were sold).

Ok, simple questions for the time being: did you ever have a loan or overdraft with the bank?
Did you ever drive when your account was Advantage Gold?
Do you still pay a fee for a current account?
Have you ever owned a mobile phone and insured it?

Excellent news(mainly cos I used to work for NatWest and know how badly they were sold).

Ok, simple questions for the time being: did you ever have a loan or overdraft with the bank? overdraft yes
Did you ever drive when your account was Advantage Gold? yes
Do you still pay a fee for a current account? yes, but have noticed recently that it has dropped
Have you ever owned a mobile phone and insured it? yes since 2000 but it was so cheap no point in insurance

So what have they dropped it to?
Overdraft is a benefit of the account ie reduced rate but overall the rest is not. Did you take out AA roadside recovery or similar?

To be blunt, you've got a letter from 2014 with the bank saying that you don't benefit from the account so it's worth asking for them back on that basis alone. Mention it was no benefit to you and you didn't use any of the benefits apart from the overdraft which you were not aware that it was beneficial to you in the first place.

Any loans perhaps?

@leclerc Natwest seem to be busy trying to flog a new " reward" account where you get a "reward" for any Direct Debits on your accounts. There is a fee for this and from the looks of it only certain DDs are eligible. Not going to bother as I would not benefit from it but I wish they would stop trying to get me to " upgrade" when I log in to online banking.
My account was an Advantage Gold Account but told them almost straight away I did not want any of the benefits, cheap phone, do not drive etc! Got the two months worth of fees I had paid back!

I worked for them so knew how staff worked the computers shall we say so do not use a natwest account very much apart from paying in change which means the turnover of that account is super low. The powers that be closed the local banch recently.
We now only have two ATMs a Tesco or the Post Office.
