  • Credit agreement attached to a bill of sale (or chattel morgage)

    Hi purchased a vehicle, as I found out under the above title. presuming it was a normal hire purchase agreement.. I only found out that it was under the above heading. I only found out this when I tried to terminate the agreement under the, consumer credit act 1974 section 99. Event though each statement from the finance company clearly stated that I could terminate the agreement under the afore mentioned act. I have now been informed that this act dose not apply to me. even after they had stated this in writing. can you advise on this problem ?.

    Can you give more information ie company name what the hire purchase agreement was for etc etc
