  • Advantis Debt Collection

    Hi
I am new to this so please bear with me!
About 2 years ago, my husband and I were entitled to working tax credit and childrens tax credit. When the year was up, we had earned slightly more than we had propsed. We knew we owed a percentage back but the tax office wanted the whole amount back! We tried to talk them about this on several occasions, even sending in new forms. they refused to talk to us and were very rude. They continued to send demands. I wrote to them but still o communication! I have now received a bill from Advantis debt collection for the whole amount. Has this debt been sold? Am I still liable for it? Can they pursue this further? SHould I hvae any communication with them? I have dealt with debt collection agencies before but these seem different and obviously employed by the tax office. Any help or advice would be gratefully received!
