Be interesting to see what the insurers offer in settlement.
You should start looking around to see how much a replacement will cost.
Best be prepared in advance for the arm wrestling.

In that case be prepared for an offer round about scrap value (their estimate of market value) less your policy excess,
You might find what you are looking for here > (:http://www.carandclassic.co.uk/class...word=Ambulance) which might give you are bargaining point about "market value"

(PS if this link is taken down I'll PM it to you.)

Re: No recovery after car burnt out at roadside

I called the RAC this morning and put the scenario to them . The response was that they would ensure we were got home safely provided we had bought the onward travel add on . I am going to check what the AA say later today .

Re: No recovery after car burnt out at roadside

checked with the AA not happy with their response . Seems they are concerned with the tie up between vehicle and customer.
What I was offered were reimbursement of taxi fares, A problem because I don't always have that kind of money in the bank and with no credit facilities not a viable option . A hire car again reimbursement not viable as I have no credit card to pay the deposit. As it about 2pm when the incident occurred an hotel stay seemed pointless.

I will draft the complaint tuesday and post it . If any knowledgable beagles would view it for me and comment I will be grateful.
