  • Offering amount to pay debt

Have been in dispute with creditors for a while now. They have issued me with small claims court papers. I have a low income and in receipt of benefits as have dependents. If I offer them £10 a month can they refuse and insist on more.

Are you disputing that you owe the debt(s)?

How many creditors are there and have they all started court proceedings? What sort of debts are these?

If you have already received a Claim Form for a debt, it it probably to late to make an offer to the creditor, However, you can make an offer to the court. Whether £10 will be accepted will depend on the details of your income and expenditure that you put on the court form.
