  • cabot registered default on old debt

Hello I am a new member, Cabot have registered a default on my credit file as of 30 Oct,they purchased a Capital One card debt that had dropped off my credit file after 6 years of being unenforceable. They say the card default was 2011 but it had already dropped off my file before October 2015, how can I get the Cabot default removed, they have registered it in the bank account section not credit cards. They have also sent by post a letter saying they are passing the debt to Restons solicitors, what action if any can they pursue against me.Thanks in advance

First thing did you have PPI on your account?. Also When was the card taken out because you could have charges on the card due to the unfair consumer contract regulations 1999. You could get these charges back. Get an SAR on your old account and get back your charges. Subject Access Request's cost £10. Give Capital One a call and get their address after all this is then cleared also look for legal advice and ask on the forum regards to how you can get the default annulled and compensation for yourself.
