  • MKDP letter

Received a letter today from MKDP which says it is a Statement in relation to the below agreement which is governed by the C.C.A 1974 and states a reference number and an original creditor and reference number. But the statement runs from 01/11/2014- 31/10/2015 and shows a start balance of £7179.27 and a closing balance of £7129.27 with the amount paid listed as an "adjustment" for -£50.00 from 17/06/15 but payments made states £0.00

I have never acknowledged this debt and it is due to be statute barred in January 2016  (default date 29/01/2010 on my credit file). But my query is basically are they trying to reset the clock by adjusting the balance owed? I don't want to poke them with a stick if it won't effect the debt coming off my file in a matter of weeks but obviously want to fight it if they're trying a back door trick to keep it active.

    Thanks

    Good morning,

Did you make a payment 17 June?
This is just your required annual statement it seems it affects nothing in regard to the limitation Act 1980.
Just keep the letter/statement safe as it confirms no payments have been made.
What type of account was this?

As said the statement is the annual one as required.

Have you checked your credit reference files, it would be worth seeing what MKDP has reported, it has
been known for defaults to altered to the date a debt purchaser acquires a debt.

Need to keep KKDP from starting a claim before 29/01/16 have they
made any effort to collect yet.

Not that I can think of but would it not be barred by the time it got to court if they tried now anyway?

Has to be stat barred on or before a claim is issued.

I'll just keep quiet and wait for February and see if it disappears before doing anything

Quick update on this letter. I've had a follow up one from Hoist Portfolio Holding 2 Ltd who have appointed Robinson Way Ltd to manage the account and the balance has again reduced, down to £7079.27 somehow although the state:

"The total balance sold was £7129.27, as at 16/11/2015 {skipped a bit} and your current balance is £7079.27."

Have I missed something what has happened to MKDP?
