hello to all at legal beagles,

as I guess with most people I have found this wonderful site because of help needed with my legal/debt problems. hopefully one day I can help others in the same boat.

over the past few years I have found myself having money stolen by a now ex-business partner, having loans and credit cards and being unable to pay them because of the failed business. at first I tried to keep the payments up and keep them all happy, but after a while this became to much and I just thought I was going to have to go bankrupt so just stopped making payments. I have somehow managed not to go bankrupt and I am now wanting to just clear this mess up, its been 6 six years now since this started and a couple of debts have fallen of my credit file so I am guessing they are statute barred. but there are a few left too, so here I am at the start of my cleaning up my debt journey. I guess I will have a lot of question to come, and I will be very appreciative of all the help I receive.

    thanks for having me

    Hi to LB

    Can you tell us more??
Debt is like any other trap, easy enough to get into, but hard enough to get out of.

It doesn't matter where your journey begins, so long as you begin it...

      Hi and welcome

That's happened to a lot of people.

If you never made further payments after defaulting or acknowledged them in writing (for example by making a settlement or repayment offer), then they probably would be SB. :whoo:

You may want to start a new thread and tell us a bit more about your debts such as:
      • Account type (loan, credit card, overdraft, etc.)
      • Original creditor (bank, credit card, finance company)
      • Current owner (debt purchaser)
      • Approx. amount outstanding
      • Approx. start date (when you took out the card or loan)
      • Approx. default/last payment date
      • Anything else that may help such as any correspondence between you and the creditor(s), etc.
