    Hi Damo to LB!

If your DR Marriage was not registered here in the UK at the time then it would still be recognised (but you would possibly need to have a certified translation of the documents) - https://www.gov.uk/marriages-civil-p...you-need-to-do and https://www.gov.uk/marriage-abroad
Getting married or forming a civil partnership abroad

Find out about who to contact and which documents you may need to get from the UK authorities if you want to get married or form a civil partnership abroad.

Your overseas marriage or civil partnership will be recognised in the UK if you follow the correct process according to local law - you won’t have to register it in the UK.

You need to have grounds (good reason) for filing for a divorce (https://www.gov.uk/divorce/overview)
Living apart for more than 5 years is usually enough to get a divorce, even if your husband or wife disagrees with the divorce.
A divorce petition form will need to be filed - http://hmctsformfinder.justice.gov.u..._forms_id=1115
          You must include your:
          full name and address
husband or wife’s full name and address
marriage certificate - the original certificate or a copy from a register office

Include the names and dates of birth of any children (no matter how old they are).

There's a charge of £410 for this (unless you can get fee remission due to low income - http://hmctsformfinder.justice.gov.u..._forms_id=4396)

          .....................................

Then (after the divorce is agreed) you need to apply for a Decree Nisi - http://hmctsformfinder.justice.gov.u...t_forms_id=154.

If the judge agrees with your application, you can then apply for a Decree Absolute after 6 weeks (but within 12 months) - http://hmctsformfinder.justice.gov.u..._forms_id=1114.
