  • hello

I am new here and would like some advice. I was recently stopped by security leaving clothing store. Humiliated when asked to search my bags.i was taken to small office and suffer anxiety and panic attacks ended up having to call an ambulance. I would like to know what are my rights. I had not stolen anything and want to know if I have to agree to bag search etc. Many thanks

    Re: hello

I believe that they are not allowed to search your bag, and you shouldn't let them. What's to say they don't "plant" something in there? If they insist, and you agree then you can take things out. Indeed you could have refused to be taken to that small room.

When you were "taken" to the small room, were you free to leave? were you allowed to be seated?,was the door locked? how many staff were present? how did they react when you showed signs of distress? did they call the ambulance or did you?
Have they shown any contrition or apologised?
