Hi everyone 😀I'm a newbie. Have seen a couple of mentions regarding CLAIM FORMS. I am the proud owner of one from LOWELL PORTFOLIO for an Orange Bill with BRYAN CARTER Solicitors. Claim for £622.20 then Court Fee & Solicitors =£801.99. I can't even remember original Orange amount, but wasn't that amount. Help. Are these people really going to take me to Northampton County Court? I have calculated that I must do something by 26th Aug.

    Welcome aboard

If you have received a claim then they have already taken you to court, although Northampton is not an actual court where hearings take place, just the centralised processing centre for money claims.

You need to acknowledge the claim (which you can do online using the P/W printed on the claim) within 14 days. :typing: Full details are here: http://www.legalbeagles.info/forums/...313#post499313

Below are the usual steps to take upon receipt of a claim, note that I've removed item 2 because it refers to a CCA request which does not apply to mobile contracts.

So, first steps (within 14 days of receiving the claim)

1: ACKNOWLEDGE THE CLAIM - you can do this online usually at www.moneyclaim.gov.uk
You'll need your claim reference and password from the front of the claim form - this will extend the time you have to respond to the claim to 28 days from when you received it

3: Send a CPR request to the CLAIMANT'S SOLICITORS ( see here )

This applies to everything unless they happen to have supplied you with a bunch of paperwork to back up their claim (v. unlikely)
How old is this Orange contract? Any idea when you last made a payment?
