  • Hello

Wonder if someone can help if I give the scenario. Legal dive centre whereby folk pay to be a member and to dive there. There is also a shop, a cafe, a place to hire kit and also a place where you pay to get your cylinders filled with air. You pay at the desk, they give you a cardboard ticket on string which you put on your tank and place it to the left of the filling station. Once filled they are left outside the filling station but still in the shop. You just walk up and collect it. There has been occasions whereby a tank is picked up in error but there has been occasions where a new tanks has been collected and a crappy old one has been left at the end of the day (theft).

Dive centre says it isnt their responsibility. Is this correct?

    Re: Hello

Hello The OT Diver and welcome to LB.
My daughter is a keen scuba diver and travels around France, Belgium (where she lives) and Germany to dive sites.
The answer to your question depends on what notices are displayed at the Dive Centre.
Do they say things are left at your responsibility?
What is printed on your receipt?
If nothing, you might have a claim.
My daughter leaves her cylinders at a specialist shop for refilling. She uses particular gas mixtures as she does very deep dives.
The cylinders cost megabucks so she would never just leave them unattended.
